Try downloading Ad-aware, spy-bot, and HiJackThis.

Run each one in succession while in Safe-Mode. If they say that they need to
reboot the computer then let them.

Try running Ad-aware first in Safe Mode and clean out all of the errors that
it gives, then run Spy-bot before restarting your computer, select all errors
and clean them. Reboot and go back to normal mode. Run HiJackThis, but be
careful what you clean.

HiJackThis requires some knowledge about what files are being used by
certain programs and requires you to know how to back up your registry.

I know it would be much easier if Microsoft would just put a button on IE
that would reset all default settings and clean out all garbage from IE,
including the Comcast and Gateway/Dell stuff.
