I have IE 6, and each time I click on it, I get the message that says
something to the effect of, IE has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience. I am then asked if I want to send an
error report to Microsoft. I have Windows ME. I have tried going to
Add/Remove programs to "repair", but that is not an option on Windows ME. So
I have also tried removing both versions (original and a service pack or
other update??) and I get a message saying that there was a problem and the
program could not be removed.
When I click on more info in the dialag box that asks me if I want to send an
error report, the info reads as follows:
Error Signature
AppName: iexplore.exe
Appver: 6.0.2800.1106
ModName: Shell32.dll
ModVer: 5.50.4134.100
Offset: 00002006
Also, when I click on technical details I get the following message:
Windows cannot find
'http://oca.microsoft.com/resredir.aspx?SID=1279&BucketTable=1&Bucket=22889645&LCID=1103'
Hope this helps. I cannot use IE 6 at all, since the error message is
displayed as soon as I open IE.
Thanks,
Gordough
