Isn't it fun being between two fingerpointers?
They should at least be asking you for diagnostics which prove
that it isn't them.

Unfortunately you are posting in the wrong newsgroup to help tell
you what they should be telling you, in order to get the right diagnostics
so you can either fix the problem yourself or attach the blame fairly
where it belongs.

I have the same symptom myself with XPsp2 but it is with a Dial-Up
link so instead of rebooting all I have to do is hang up and redial.
So far it hasn't happened often enough that I have been bothered to try
to figure out where the problem lies.

I imagine that there could be analogous command line actions
which you could try even with your broadband link (in order to avoid
a reboot) but I don't know if that is the case or not. I think we would
also need more details about your connection in any case.

As I mentioned this is the wrong newsgroup for doing such a diagnosis.
However, I am cross-posting this to WindowsXP Networking
in case it gets an immediate more knowledgeable reply.

Good luck
