whenever I am at a site that requires me to go to another
window, after about a minute, I get an error message and
that IE must now close. Following error signature:
AppName: iexplore.exe
AppVer: 6.0
ModName:mshtml.dll
ModVersion: 6.0.2800.1264
offest 00bf179

Have searched and searched for fixes, but nothing seems
to work. This just started happening a few weeks ago and
is very annoying.

Help, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in MSHTML.DLL

Go to IE, Help, About. Check what patches and updates have been applied
then check to make sure that the version of mshtml.dll on your computer is
correct.

For example, the June 2003 cumulative patch (Q818529 - MS02-020) included
mshtml.dll version 6.0.2800.1170, 6.0.2726.2500, 5.50.4926.2500 or
5.0.3516.2800 depending on your operating system and version of IE as per
its knowledge base article:

http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;EN-US;q818529

If incorrect, uninstall and reinstall the patch (make sure you turn off
antivirus, crashguards and other programmes). If you still have problems,
please post to the Microsoft Public Newsgroups for more assistance.

Specific knowledge base articles about the error include the following:

I am having the same problem. It started after installing
a product (Meade's astonomer's control panel and starry
night). The product updated visual basic and activex. IE
uses activex. Even though I removed the Meade product, I
continue to get illegal operation abends in IE. Activex
must be the culprit, but I have yet to get a new copy of
activex because I will not pay for it. Microsoft is
useless in this situation.

Internet Explorer or Outlook Express Quits Unexpectedly with an Error in
Mshtml.dll
If you have installed update 810847. It doesn't cause problems for everyone,
but there are a significant number of users affected. The problem file is
mshtml.dll with version number of 6.0.2800.1141.
When you call the removeNode function in script code on a cached function
pointer on the element style object, an access violation may occur in
Iexplore.exe in the Mshtml.dll module.
You will find this fix and a direct download in article 813489

STill no luck. I go to the "answers-7" page and nothing
applies to this.

No listings of this error, not to mention it is from June
2003, and this just started happening a couple weeks ago.

I searched and searched the help site and found nothing
that pertained to this particular problem or specific
error message.

Is it some update or patch I was sent to download in the
past four weeks? Can I remove it if that's the case?

Very very frustrating!!!!

Have tried every fix suggested and scoured the site and
still no luck. Keep finding fixes from like feb. 2003
and june 2003. I try them, but of course this just
started a few weeks ago. Just in case, I've run virus
scanner, defragged, everything simple that I can think
of. This is totally maddening.

IE just closes, same message, all the time now. What can
I do????????????????

Check the version of you mshtml.dll file against this database.
Where does your come from?

Welcome to the Microsoft DLL Help database
The DLL Help database provides a search able database of information about
file versions that ship with a selected set of Microsoft products.
http://support.microsoft.com/servicedesks/fileversion/dllinfo.asp

Select Iexplore.exe on this page for some clues.
http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/ermshtml.htm
I suspect that you have the wrong version of mshtml.dll file.
