Jan,
Does the IE reg hack trick on the Kelly's Korner website work for XP
SP2?
I
tried that trick, and it didn't work for me.

Hi oceanblues
I hate to add further to your woes, but, you don't give us very many
details
of the problem to work with here, nor the version of Windows you are
using,
so the best I can do is a guess.
Post the exact wording of the error message and your OS. I the mean
time,
you might try the following and see if it helps where it may apply to
your
OS:
Try this and post back on results:
Run each line individually and hit enter after each one.
Go to Start>Run then type in the window:
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
also...
If no joy, ttry the information here and see if one of the errors
listed
is
the one you have and see what resolution they suggest.

You should also visit the Windows Update site and let it scan for
necessary
updates and install them.
and...
It may be that the file has become corrupted and needs to be replaced.

If all else fails, do a repair/reinstall of your OS.

Be sure to visit Windows Update site and let it scan for all needed
updates
and service packs afterward.
If you get the error "Newer version of IE already installed" when
trying
to
reinstall/repair XP,
go to here to fix the problem:
Kelly's site has a fix which changes the IsInstalled flag value to 0.
=

Download this, then right click, Merge, reboot, then try your install
again.
or

If you have a different OS than XP, and don't know how to do the
repair,
post back and we'll provide instructions.
Hope this helps.
