Windows XP IE error messages

Hi,

I hope someout out there can assist. When i click on IE icon I get the error message
" Explorer has caused an error in ( unknown) " and Im returned to my desk top. I am therefore unable to access the internet.

Any idea how I can cure this ?

disable any firewall software, if still same then re enable and do the following...

download this (Ad-aware)

update it

run it

test it

still same get back to me

Techy is correct, you've picked up an "Ad Worm" from somewhere ... and just to make it clear, the problem is with "Windows Explorer" and NOT "Internet Explore" something like gstartup.exe will cause your problem ... AdAware should clean it for you. :)
