OK, please someone help me I am at a loss. Brand new Dell Inspiron E1505,
Windows XP Svc. Pk 2, IE 6.0. I was attempting to go onto a live web cast
when I realized that I had an issue. I could get as far as the login screen,
but when I try I get the error " IE has encountered an error and must close.
Sorry for the inconv.". said don't send report and it closes out IE. This
also occured when I attempted to download an update from Microsoft, but I was
able to download a different update.
I have attempted next to everything, allowed the firewall to accept the site
and it's various programs. I changed my security level to Custom, I removed
the checkbox next to Enable third party extensions and so on. Upon suggestion
I have even restored it to dell's original installation, thinking maybe it
was something I did. Below is the non descript error I get which makes it
even worse.
On the first page it does not have any file information, I got this
information from selecting one of the links at the bottom.
AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 692e6e6f
This file will be included on the report:
C:\DOCUME~1\CJANDH~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\1cc6_appcompat.txt
