Try the information below and see if it helps:

MSVCRT:

or

If these are not what you need, you can find more here that might help you:

It is possible you may have parasites, spyware, adware or
malware on your system causing the problem. Download
and install, you *must* update the programs prior to running to
be sure they have the latest definitions, then run the programs
below. They are free and very effective.Be sure to run both
SpyBot and Adaware, as what one does not detect the other
may. It is important that you follow all directions carefully:

SpyBot Search & Destroy: Free

Thanks, I will try, this machine is running updated
Mcafee security suite and I have tried the adaware
software from majorgeeks on top of it to no avail. I'll
post if your advice is successful.

Hi :-)
Tried them all to no avail

Try these two programs, if they don't work, then try the next steps:

CWShredder: Free

or
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4086.html

McAfee Avert Stinger

or

Try the following and see if it helps. If not, try a Repair of the IE
(steps for the Repair follows the replacement steps if you need them)

Windows 98
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type SFC, and then click OK.
In the System File Checker dialog box that appears, click Extract one file
from installation disk.
In the Specify the system file you would like to restore box, type
Msvcrt.dll, and then click Start.
In the Restore from box, browse to your Windows 98 installation CD.

NOTE: If you have an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) installation of
Windows 98, the Windows installation files may be stored in the following
location:
C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS

In the Save file in box, type C:\, and then click OK. You receive the
following message:
Extract File

The file has been successfully extracted.

Click OK.
Repeat steps 3 through 6 but substitute Msvcirt.dll for Msvcrt.dll.
Quit System File Checker, and then restart the computer in MS-DOS mode.
At the command prompt, type Rename C:\Windows\System\Msvcrt.dll Msvcrt.old,
and then press ENTER.
Type Rename C:\Windows\System\Msvcirt.dll Msvcirt.old, and then press ENTER.
Type Copy C:\Msvcrt.dll C:\Windows\System, and then press ENTER.
Type Copy C:\Msvcirt.dll C:\Windows\System, and then press ENTER.
Restart the computer.

Repair IE

Open Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Select and highlight your MS IE
version in the list, then click the Add/Remove tab and when the dialog box
comes up, select the Repair Internet Explorer and then click OK. Let it run
the repair. It might also be a good idea to install the latest version of
Microsoft Virtual Machine if
you have not yet done that.
