I have a client that uses online banking. Since the upgrade to SP2 IE has
changed the way that data is transferd to Excel. Excel opens in a browser
window as it did before howeverall collums are now dumped into one. The bank
says that it is an issue in SP2 but will not offer corrective advise.

Has anyone seen this?

On my machine when exporting to Excel I am prompted to select the table to
import and the Range of cells to import the data into.

By default it only selects one column to import into

If you choose a RANGE of colums it will parse each column from the HTML
table to the appropiate spreedsheet column.

Steps to follow

Right click on the table to export and choose 'Export to Microsoft Excel'
..... Excel opens and prompts with the range to import the table into
Choose a range of columns that is sufficient to accommodate your data.

Thanks for the reply Rob. I do not get any flexiblility at all, simply opens
Excel in a new Browser window. The bank claim that it is an issue in XP SP2
which I doubt as I have searched the KB and Google.

Long ago when IE6 first came out Excel was causing IE problems
with text size. The workaround was to either change the View, Text Size
or toggle it. I never saw a better resolution than this workaround.
