IE doesn't recognize connection

I am suddenly having a problem with IE where it doesn't
recognize my connection. I know that I am logged on
because I can send and recieve emails as well as use
Windows Messenger. This happens with both my dial up and
my high speed connection, and just started happening
yesterday. Everything used to work fine.

I would really appreciate any help that anyone might be
able to give me. Thank you.
 
I think I am having the same problem and cannot find any
help on it. It started several weeks ago, most likely
after one of the numerous microsoft patches that I
received. IE works fine for me until after I wake my
computer up from Stand By mode. I can still check e-mail
through Outlook, but IE does not recognized my connection
and hangs up. It never actually opens up. If I try it
again I will end up with multiple copies of IE running in
the Task Manager but none are actually accessible to
use. My computer then becomes bogged done and it takes
forever to reboot it.

If I figure it out, I will post it here.
 
I am having the same problem. The blue bar at the bottom
of the browzer goes about half way and that's it. I can
only view secure pages. Neither Microsoft or Dell have
been able to help me.
