IE doesn't close all the way

I close my browser using the X in the upper right corner and on the surface
it seems to have closed. Soon after though my resources become low and I
can't do anything. I go into task manager and every IE I have opened is
still open on the processes tab. I close them all manually and everything is
fine until I open my browser again and it starts all over again.
