IE does not show backgrounds!?!

Since I purchased this HP, IE has been unable to show backgrounds on
websites. Animations, flash, etc show just fine. However the background of
the page is ALWAYS white.

Any idea what is causing this? Any idea on how I can fix it without having
to backup my whole freaking system, and reinstall EVERYTHING.

Have a look, in IE, at Tools...Internet Options...General tab, Accessibility
button, uncheck "Ignore colors....." at the top, click Okay, click Okay.
