I'm having a really weird problem with IE. when I open my browser, my
homepage comes up just fine. If I type a new address into the address bar
and hit Go, nothing happens. However, if I set a different page as my
homepage, it load fine. If I click from a hyperlink in an e-mail or instant
message, it works fine. Just NOT when I type it in the address bar, or from
Start > Run. Any ideas on how to fix this? Firefox works fine, etc. Even
typing microsoft.com doesn't work, but doing windows updates works fine.

Thanks for any help you can give!

I have the same problem. Do you leave spaces between the } { in the code?
Or does it even matter?

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/918165

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms06-015.mspx has
been revised to v1.1 to reflect the issues in KB918165 and now points
to the KB918165.

Now may not be the time to learn Regedit.
I suggest you use a .reg file already done for the purpose.

http://patch-info.de/WinXP/Downloads/KB908531_Share-To-Web.zip

Unzip it, extract the .reg file to a folder, right-click it and select
Merge and confirm when asked.
