IE crashes - starts mutiple sessions on its own

I have IE 6.0. Windows XP
When I start IE, it starts to rapidly load random pages,
new addresses appear in the address bar one after the
other, the pages never load. It starts a new session with
each page. It can go up to over 60 sessions of IE in a few
seconds! Help! I tried to reinstall, but the MS website
only has a download that needs internet access which I
don't have on that computer right now!
