I am running IE and OE v6, since yesterday has developed an issue when
attempting to open a link from an email in OE. When I click on the link, a
new window begins to open to display the page, then I keep getting an error
message to "report this problem to Microsoft" and IE closes.

The error message details include:
Exception file
Code 0xc000001e
Flags 0x00000000

Now I find that when I attempt to download an update from Microsoft, I get a
similar error message and IE crashes. Same now when another window opens
within IE - IE crashes.

I tried running the various regsvr32 dll scripts as suggested but still have
the problem.

Help!!

Hi Joe,

I suspect that either you have some malware installed or perhaps you are
running Firefox also.

First disable your Add-ins to IE. Start>Settings>Control Panel>Internet
Options - Advanced tab - uncheck 'Enable third-party Browser Helper
Objects". Try you email links again. If this works then you will have to
find and remove the offending toolbar.

Ensure that IE is your default browser - Start>Set Program Access and
Defaults - select IE as your default browser.

Regards.
