I'll start with the error messages I get in the event
viewer and then state what I was doing when the error was
generated.

I am getting these consitently each time I visit the
Windows Update site. I have Windows XP Home With SP 1,
Athlon XP 2000+, Asus A7N8X mainboard, GeForce 2 MX 400 32
MB Video Card, and the most recent drivers available for
all products from the manufacturers web sites.
I am able to go to the web site and receive the critical
updates and service packs, but when I click on "Windows
XP' for additional updates, IE6 will terminate and
sometimes causes a blue screen. There is no additional
information on this blue screen besides a few hex codes.
No files or drivers are mentioned in this blue screen. I
am able to click on drivers and critical updates with no
issues.
There is no additional software loaded on this machine and
it is a clean load. Only Windows, critical updates for
Windows XP, Current Asus NForce drivers, Asus Monitor is
loaded, but no running, Latest Nvidia FX drivers, Winamp
2.91, and Quicktime 6.0 (Not Pro) are loaded. Quicktime
has also crashed on this system. Other hardware is a 40GB
drive and 512MB of DDR400 ram setup in dual channel mode.
I would like more info as to how to resolve this issue and
what is causing it. I know the system is not overheating
and is ok hardware wise.
