I just did a complete recovery because of an earlier problem which may have
been with IE or the dedicated application for my classes. After the Restore
my system was working fine, until I intalled a copy of Office purchased
through my school book store to use for this terms classes. After the
install, IE crashes whenever I try to log onto the schools email account to
get my student emails. Since I need to be able to get my emails and to use
Office for my current classes in Word, Excel, Access, Windows and outlook I
took the computer to the store where I bought it hoping the techs would have
a clue. A very nice professional spent several hours of his own time going
over it and checking that I had all the updates and service packs (which I
had done when the problem was discovered). He could not find and solve the
problem either. The message I recieve after it reports the error is that the
crash is caused by add-ins. I tried turning off all add-ins, then
progressively one at a time, but the problem continues and seems to only
occur when trying to access my student email. (I haven't had much time to
surf other sites to see if it happens with others, but any I have tried have
worked fine.) I can still easily access that account from other computers
without crashing them so I am stumped.
