IE constantly closing

I cannot keep working on IE because of the following message:

"Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience."
"If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on
might be lost. Restart Microsoft Internet Explorer."

I have closed my Yahoo toolbar, done virus checks and it is still the same.
Help please.
