ie connection

The connection seems to be working when using my laptop
but fails when using the desktop. I carried out a ping
test and the computer sent 4 packets and recieved none.
Wen I click on the Internet Explorer icon "404 HTTP
ERROR" appears. What do I do?
Please help!

There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).
