Folks,
Hello! I am using Windows 98 OS and I am connected to the
internet using a cable modem.

I am having a problem loading my IE 6.0 browser. When I
click on IE, it comes back with the message saying that
the page cannot be displayed. I am not sure why this is
happening. I tried to test my internet connectivity by
trying to do a LiveUpdate for Norton AntiVirus
definitions. It seemed to have worked. Then, why isn't
the IE working. I used the cable modem on another computer
that I have and it seems to be working. Normally, when
toggling between two computers, I have to reset the modem
before connecting it to a computer. So, is this the real
problem where the modem is still pointing to the I.P.
address of the other computer and is not erasing when I am
resetting the modem?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Please post if you find a solution. This seems to be happening to a lot of people, myself
included.

Well, I finally got mine working. I witch I could tell you exactly what I did, but the
only reason I got it going was because of a few people on TechTV's Call For Help message
boards, helping me through my logfile of Hijackthis, a nifty program aimed at un-hijacking
your browser from bad people. Go here; http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ download and unzip
Hijackthis, then post to their boards (not this one, as it can get quite lengthy) the
logfile of your scan. Knowledgeable people will be able to tell you what to delete, etc.
Also, update and run spybot a lot.
