I have a home-use laptop running win2k and connected to
the internet via Yahoo BB ADSL. The machine shows an IP
address, and I can access the web via Nescape without any
problems. BUT, IE continues to give a DNS error, Mozilla
won't work, and I can't access streaming music (winamp
says that it can't connect), and I can't run file sharing
programs, etc. Basically, Netscape is the only thing that
can see the internet connection, even though I can get an
IP address when I check from the DOS prompt, and when I go
to the LAN connection in setup it says enabled and OK and
all that. Thanks in advance for any ideas!!

From a command prompt
ipconfig /all
may reveal something.

Yeah I tried that and everything looked OK (to me) --
there is an IP address that is the correct address for the
service I'm using.

OK .... means nothing to me though.
