IE browser error

When I do a search from anywhere- say Google- after I type
my search term in the search window, if I mouse click on
the "search" or "go" button, everything is fine, but if I
hit the Keyboard "Enter" button I get an error message
that IE has generated errors and will be closed. I've
reloaded ie 6, and all the service pack upgrades from
Microsoft, but doesn't cure it.
I'm running IE 6 with Windows 2000 Pro. It's been running
fine for well over a year.
It says an error log is being generated, but I can't find
the error log either. Anybody else ever encounter this
one?

I have a similar problem - I am continually getting IE
error messages that say IE has generated errors and will
be closed, usually when I open a folder/window on my
desktop for the first time. Then I cannot access the
folder again, though I can access other folders/windows.
Often, it gives me the error log message also, and if I am
online at the time, it will suppposedly send an "error
report" to MS, and then bring me to the Windows update
page, but there are never any critical updates listed to
be downloaded.

Weird...
