Help,
I installed SP2 and since then I cannot access the web or
email unless I disable the Norton Firewall (NIS 4.0). The
usual cannot access this page message comes up. I have
tried changing the various settings in NIS to no avail.
When I disable Norton Internet Security it works fine.
Thanks for any help.

Jerryc,

Sounds like NIS is conflicting with the Windows Firewall
and the built in security. Just to see, what happens if
you leave, NIS on and disable the Windows Firewall, can
you access the Internet then??? It does sound like a
configuration issue of NIS, please post back once you
have tried that.

Regards

Mike,

Thanks for your response.
I did try that and it didn't make any difference unless
XP's firewall isn't turning off even though it indicates
that it is off. I tried everything that I could think of
in the NIS options except changing ports. I'll probably
try that next.

By trial and error I discovered that the only thing that "fixes" the conflict
between SP2 and Norton Personal Firewall on my system is to turn Norton
Personal Firewall OFF.
It isn't a solution as such, but at least I can surf normally until I can
resolve this.
