some ad's will not show up on my computer now. but it will show up on the
other computers in the house. Another group said it could be with my router.
how could I fix it?

If you would like some kind of help ,please include the following info in
your post.It will definitely help:

1) Operating System - name and Service Pack level

2) The status of Automatic updates and do you have ALL updates from
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

3) Antivirus software (security suit) -> name ,kind ,version ,updates...

4) Antispyware software -> name ,kind ,version ,updates...

5) RAM amount, processor speed

6) Do you have malware detected? What did your security softwares do?

7) Explain clearly what you did

8) Explain CLEARLY the problem :-)

9) ASK QUESTIONS . Do not include opinion when you are about to ask questions.

About 8) and 9) -> Just because it is easier to analyze/read :-)

Please ,don't accept these words as personal critisism. Thanks ! :)

By the way -> It can be because of software such as toolbars with pop-up
blocker or just the Pop-up blocker in IE 6.

Everything was working before. I have XP PRO service pack 2. I have Norton
Antivirus 06. I have intel 4cpu 3.00 Ghz 1gb or ram.

Hello again!

It could be your router , your Windows firewall or Norton's problem ,or any
other toolbars or softwares that include pop-up protection/ad protection.

You should try all of these but separately:
1-remove your router and leave only software firewall
or
2-remove only your software firewall(I mean Norton's worm protection)
or
3-turn your pop-up blocker that is intergrated in IE6(XP SP2) to low level
Start-> Settings ->Control Panel -> Internet Options->"Privacy" tab

or
4- Norton Internet Security has such a protection -to remove all
advertisement that it sees. However ,I am not so sure if your Norton has such
a protection so you may also check carefully in its settings (or just
temporary turn it off and visit ONLY legitimate and reputable sites and then
check)

No , you can't be sure. You need to test turning off all things
separately.Read again my previous post and see. Then ,it is less likely to be
from the router because it is not happening on the other computers (assuming
they are all behind the router).
If it is from the router ,you just remove it or buy another.
