When I open IE it only gives me an MSN internet service provider signup
wizard. How do I get rid of it so I can browse other sites? HELP! I am
running Millenium and reinstalled using the provided recovery discs. I can't
do anything with IE. It only opens the signup page for MSN ISP. Baffled in Pa.

Hi,
1. Is this a Homepage? Can you set a Homepage from Internet Options>
General?
2. Go to Start> Run> (type in) msconfig (click OK) go to the Startup tab. Is
there an entry for MSN Signup or something similar that you can uncheck?

Hope this helps,
Don

Don,

This is not a homepage and I cannot set one using internet options.
This situation is the result of restoring my comuter to the state it
was in when I bought it in 2000. MSN ISP was controlling IE as aploy
to get me to signup with them to be my ISP. It actually only offers a
"dialup" connection to signup and I am using Comcast cable. It just
ignores my present provider and I can't use IE for anything. I had
been using IE normally up until now and can't remember how I got rid
of the problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for
your timely response. I anxiously await your reply.
