i too experienced the problem with the address bar not working. i deleted the
update kb908531 and all works fine. does anyone know if microsoft is aware of
this issue and if so if there is a fix WITHOUT changing my registry?

John--
Thanks for your posting--I've been having the same problem. Naive question:
How do I delete that update which, I assume, is also the cause of my IE
problem that began just yesterday.
Any chance you've also been unable to save new Word or Excel documents?

I'm having trouble with mine too. It's not a virus- I've scanned a couple'a
times, and tried Trend Micro. I did a search for kb908531, but I came up with
five different files. Which one is it? PSM? Word Document? Security Catalog?
In the meantime I'm using my google toolbar to get from place to place.. but
it's kinda annoying! Thanks for your help! ^_^

Go to the following web site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Scroll down to line 383 and on the right hand side is a Script file that you download and run.

I tried following the resolution gide to change the registry, but this did
not work either. I'm thinking of emailing HP to see if the have a solution.
I can't even get to Microsoft Product Support Serices. Any other sugestions???

Hi,
If you have HPs Share to Web software installed, download and run the VBS
file "HP's Share-to-Web software - Fix " at
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm Line 383.

If Share to Web is not installed, see
http://www.aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=19125

Hope this helps,
Don
