IE 7 Shutting Down

IE7 suddenly started shutting down 10 seconds after opening it, one week ago.
I have a laptop running AMD Turion64, XP Home, and Norton Internet Security
2007.
I tried re-installing it but to no avail. I also tried system restore, but
still no go.
I am stumped. I do not want to do an emergency restore to the hard drive
just yet.
Something is causing it to shut down, almost like it is minimized but no
longer on the tray.
I have also lost Windows games, Freecell and Solitaire.
I need help with this one.
