Hi,

I've installed and been using IE 7 for a few hours and have found that the
new font is a strain on my eyes. I've tried to change it to the same as with
IE 6 but I don't know what the font style and size was (it was the IE 6
default font as I never changed it from new I first using this PC which I
bought brand new).

I'm not sure if the newer font is better for resolutions higher than my
monitor (1024 x 768) but I find reading it from such webites as bbc.co.uk or
google.com a strain and would really appreciate having to the same as IE 6.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You don't tell what exactly is the problem. "A strain on my eyes" is not
something we can troubleshoot.

However, if fonts are looking blurry and you use a CRT monitor, it will
help to disable ClearType (Tools, Internet Options, Advanced - look under
Multimedia).

Kind regards

Hans

See this page:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/community/columns/ie7_toolbar.mspx
Try the Classic Menu. The default size setting for IE6 is medium. This is
relative to the font size specified by the site your visting. The font may
or may not be specified by the site your visiting. The bbc.co.uk site
specifies Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif, or MS sans serif. Your
system must have at least one of these fonts installed otherwise it will
pick a substitute. Check your installed fonts. Also check the display
properties to see if they have changed. I'm still happy with IE6. The price
for being an early adopter is too high for me.
Good Luck
