I just received this "warning" from Kim Komando Newsletter. Is this a good
idea - not to dowload and install this beta 7 version?

DON'T WANT IE 7 AUTOMATICALLY DELIVERED? OPT OUT!
If you receive my News of the Day newsletter, you know that Microsoft’s
Internet Explorer Version 7 will be delivered automatically. It will be
released in the fourth quarter of this year. Users will have the option of
not installing the new browser.
Opting not to install the software is easy enough for home users. But
companies often have their own way of installing new software. Therefore,
they may want to prevent individual users from downloading IE7.
Microsoft has released a tool that will block the automatic delivery. The
tool won't prevent users from downloading the software manually. For more
details, read the overview on Microsoft's site. You can download the tool on
the same page.

Hello Spoons
Interesting - no doubt somebody will point out this is IE6 group - I don't
mind reading your post.
Have you posted in the IE 7 group?
But thanks for the 'warning'
IE7 is beta and I make a habit of avoiding it as best I can.

Sorry - I couldn't find a IE7 group so I posted it here - I have moved it to
the General Discussion forum. I do not know how to delete this.

It's a good idea not to install any beta version of anything unless you
have a machine to experiment with and it doesn't matter to you whether the
machine works or not. My personal rule for betas is that they don't go on
my machines unless someone pays me to test them. I don't have the time or
inclination to be an unpaid tester.

... except that it will be out of Beta at the point where MS pipe it through
auto updates..

Microsoft is NOT going to install IE7 Beta. The automatic install will not
occur until after IE7 is in its final form, hopefully late this year.
