Have just set up broadband via a cable (not wireless) and find that I cannot
get access to my ISP. On consultation with them they suggest that the
settings for my IE/6 may be 'wrong'. Any suggestions

I would expect your network settings to need correcting rather than IE
settings. Did you verify these with the ISP? If the problem is in fact
with IE settings, you might try pinging the gateway or you could ping
microsoft.com at 207.46.130.108

Also, if you repost, your OS would be helpful.

Jerry,
Have just installed XP, with service pack2. Tried to upload
Netscape from a CD to-day to see if I could by-pass the problem - without
success.
Very frustrating as the wanadoo icon insists that a connection is
open but we only get the 'unable to find server' message.
No firewalls are active.
