I've recently discovered soemthing called www.incredifind
on my ME OS that was responsible (or at least party
responsible) for slowing down (basically crippling) my
computer. I deleted the folders I found on the hard drive
and have also ran Ad-Aware Pro. Now I cannot run IE6 or
Outlook Express 6 and I'm at a loss as to what to do. The
good news is (I think) is that this computer is networked
in my house so I can upload files and execute them on this
machine. I also restored all quarrantined files from Ad-
aware (in case I deleted a file inadvertently. I'm not
sure if I should remove IE6 and Outlook Express 6 and re-
install them (I don't have a disk) or is there some tool
that I can run remotely (from the other machine) to see if
there is a file missing that I can re-install remotely. I
really don't want to lose all my favorites and Outlook
Express 6 settings. Any advice is appreciated.

Sometimes when you remove an adware file, it breaks your connection. Here
is how to reset it.

Winsock Fix

1c84d8c20f40bb9a29

Open Network settings
1.) Remove all protocols EXCEPT the Network Interface card.
2.) Click Apply & Close the Properties box, but on reboot notice, hit
Cancel...do not reboot!
3.) Open Regedit and delete these keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VXD\Dhcp
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VXD\Dhcpoptions
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VXD\MSTCP
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VXD\Winsock2

also ..scroll down delete

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock2

close regedit

4.) Open Network Properties again, and Click ADD - PROTOCOL -
MicroSoft/TCPIP(should Add Client for MS Networks Automatically)

have your windows CD ready or the CAB files,
Reboot and Should be good.

NOTE: Simply removing the Protocols in Network settings will not work
because those registry entries stay, even if you have no network at all.
Once deleted, putting the TCP/IP protocol back in , basically rebuilds the
TCP from scratch, it is the same as when Windows was first installed clean.
also any speed patches to TcpRWin values & MTU will be reset back to Windows
defaults.
