IE 6 Won't Open!

D

DB

I running Windows 98.

I cannot get IE to open. I get the following message:
"Microsoft IE has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience." I can check the option
to restart IE, which doesn't work. Then it says, " Tell
Microsoft about this problem. "Send error report" "Don't
send error report". Regardless of what you do, it will not
open and continues to pop up over and over again followed
by the world famous "This computer has performed an illegal
operation". Please HELP!

Thanks in advance,

DB,
From IE> Tools> Internet Options
or
Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced> uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions."

If IE then functions, go to http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm and
start working through the solutions.

Browser extensions can be re-enabled after cleanup.
