ie 6 won't open

I'm kind of new to this so bear with me please. I
downloaded the newest patch for ie 6 and everything was ok
for a few days and now I can't even open new window. I had
to use mozilla to get here. I am using windows 98 SE. I
thoughT maybe if I unistalled explorer and reinstalled it
that might fix it. I tried to get into my setting and the
window won't even open. I can't even get into my computer.
I downloaded IE6 and tried to install it and I still get an
error. Here is the error I get.

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module NAMESOCKET.DLL at 0187:030c2ddb.

Does anyone have any ideas? PLEASE HELP!

Run a scandisk. Might be a bad sector.

NAMESOCKET.DLL is not a Microsoft file. Can you determine where it came
from?
