IE 6 won't load

Since about 26 May, I have been unable to load IE 6 - the window opens and
hangs. Firfox does still works however I am unable to open visit several
sites which require IE. I have a suspicion that an automatic update at the
same time might have caused this. In addition, my email in Outlook no longer
displays images. Is this a coincidence I wonder? MSN notifies me whether I
have emails but again, won't load IE when clicked.

I am using XP Pro and a idal up service. Thorough scans by Search and
Destroy, Windows Defender and AVG AntiVirus have found numerous nasties but
it hasn't done the trick. I've checked that Zone Alarm specifically allows IE
and other MS apps. Any solutions will be gratefully received.

Thanks Nass & Frank

I've condicted more anti-virus and anti-adware scans with the latest updates
and still no joy. Incidentally Nass, selecting Properties after
right-clicking on the shortcut does not show a Programs tab, only General,
Shortcut and Compatibility. I expect I'm going qoing somewhere - any ideas?
