Chris

I have IE 6.0. I can access web pages just fine from my
favorites menu or by following web links. However, if I
type a URL in the Address bar it will not load. The
Windows flag will move in the upper left corner and then
stop. After I've gone on to other things, the URL I've
typed in will load (this could be minutes later). Any
ideas?

I'm running ZoneAlarm Pro. Even if I uninstall it, clean
the registry and do a fresh boot with no firewall this
still happens. All other Internet apps work fine.

Two things, check first to see if you can go to a website
by IP address instead of the domain. For example, type in
http://64.236.16.52, you should get to cnn.com. If not,
and it takes quite a while, it's probably an issue with
your DNS provided by your ISP. Contact them to change
them. Or to check your CONNECTION to make sure you are
connected to the net ok, open a command window, click
START > RUN, type in cmd or command (depends on your O/S).
Then type in ping www.cnn.com. Look for PACKET LOSS. If
you get any, you may have an issue with your internet
connection.

Secondly, if you have an issue with getting to websites,
you may want to do a search for spyware on your PC. There
are many programs on the net that you can search for to
remove these annoyances.

Let us know your results.
