I ran the IE6 SP1(was IE5 SP3)update on my server(Win2K
Svr SP2) and now I get the BSOD w/ STOP 0x0000006F
message. The update ran OK and then rebooted as usual to
finish the update. When the Win2K Svr splash screen w/ the
progress bar comes up the progress bar goes all the way
across then the BSOD comes up with the STOP code and the
msg "SESSION3_INITIALIZATION_FAILED". KB153742 said that a
file is corrupted or missing(which file?, the BSOD doesn't
say) and gave a few things to try(none of which were
useful). Booting from the Win2K Svr CD and doing a Repair
has left the machine in a Boot, Crash, Boot, Crash, etc
cycle. Anyone else seen this or know what the IE6 updt
might have done to cause this?

Have seen something similar which I could fix by stripping the
HW down to the bone then installing somde driver before the
associated HW.

I always make ghost copies of known good stages, so if
something happens, I can just blow away the boot drive
and put in a last known working copy in a very short time.
