About once a week my PC goes beserk! When I do a ctrl alt del I see that
IE6 is very acitve and 100% of the cpu is being used and my PC is bogged
down. IE6 is the culprit.
Then I close all my IE6 windows, about 7 and my PC settles down and I get a
message that an error report has to be sent which I alllow. I have all new
updates as of Aug 9 06.
I also have Firefox up and it doesn't cause any problems.
So I'm curious as to what's up with IE6 that it has to hog my PC while not
accomplishing anything useful that I can see?
tnx
Hank

Windows version (you post using WinXP SP2)?

I suggest that you run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, Henry, including
posting your HijackThis log to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
your log to http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30,
http://castlecops.com/forum67.html,
http://forums.subratam.org/index.php?showforum=7, or other appropriate
forums for expert analysis, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
