When starting up and browsing, my internet explorer hangs and appears to
cause everything else to hang as well. I can't start task manager to kill
the app and have to repeatedly kill it using the close buttn (top right).
Windows gives me the option to report the fault which I do and then view the
suggested fixes but they always tell me that there is spyware, adware or a
virus. I have updated all the packages I have (Spyware Doctor and AVG free)
and I also download all the latest patches from MS but nothing seems to work.

If I do manage to get Task Manager to run, it reports that one of the
svchost.exe processes is using a lot of memory, and system idle processes is
maxed out at 99 on cpu useage.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
