IE 6 SP1 Prints and Previews Raw HMTL

I think this issue may be related to removing AOL as it seems to first have
occurred after uninstalling. Now IE 6 will only print (and print preview) the
HTML source code for a particular website. Originally though it was a print
driver issue, but that does not seem to be the case as Firefox will print the
pages correctly. Reset everthing I could find to Default (Internet Options)
and intalled IE 7 beta 3 with no effect.

I'm guessing I need to tweak a registry setting or re-register some dll's
but don't know where to begin. Firefox is OK, but I'm a Microsoft guy. Any
suggestions? Next thing I could do on my own is to do a System Restore or
reinstall AOL, which I'd really rather not do.

See if this helps:

I have the same problem as Hal D. I tried the fix on winhelponline, but
the problem still exists. Like Hal I think it may be a registry problem.
One more clue is that the print URL footer prints a pointer to a temp file
rather than the URL of the website being visited. Also, I had nothing to
do with AOL (adding or deleting) to get the problem.

I performed a system restore back to 7/11 last night and it corrected the
issue. Of course, to all users attempting a system restore, the process is
not always without "side effects." I lost McAfee antivirus (somehow became
corrupted) had to do an uninstall, but it installed successfully. Firefox,
which I installed after the checkpoint on 7/11 has disappeared from the GUI.
I didn't have time to search for the program files. I assume it's still there
just not registered propertly. Need to perform some clean up.

If anyone finds a cure the the raw HTML printing issue. Please post here.
I'd rather find the cure than treat the symptoms in the future. BTW
mshtml.dll never re-registered properly - errored out (even in Safe Mode - if
that even matters). shdocvw.dll did re-register properly

Perhaps you can try this repair script (from German MVP Kai Schaetzl):

Thanks. Sadly, that didn't fix it either.
