The Java plugin has absolutely nothing to do with JavaScript.

1. You might want to refresh your scripting engine:

Sometimes there's a corrupt file in the cache and one must go to Tools |
Internet Options and click Delete Files.

2a. Start>Run>Regsvr32 vbscript.dll

2b. Start>Run>Regsvr32 jscript.dll

3. Re-register all DLLs listed in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281679

5a. IE Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Browsing>Enable third-party browser
extensions (uncheck & reboot).

5b. Find the hijacker that caused 5a to be checked (or if none were checked,
check for hijackware anyway):

Do you have a popup blocker that's blocking scripts?

Thanks for your continued interest in this issue, Frank.

No popup blockers.

I can go to www.pandasoftware.com/activescan . Their popup works just
fine.

Perhaps related: when I enter support.microsoft.com > newsgroups, then sign
in, I receive a notice that the certificate for c.microsoft.com cannot be
verified.

Is this a site I can visit?

About Microsoft's certificate, you aren't the only one and I don't what's
with that.

Frank:
No. I apologize. I thought I had included that in my reply.

I do not use google's toolbar nor yahoo's toolbar, both of which have popup
blockers. I use NO popup blockers.

Again, the problem began after downloading Microsoft's updates.

Thanks for your persistence.

Frank:
Whicn page? I didn't give reveal the real address. I put
"none_of_your_business".

But, I AM ABLE to get there using FireFox! The problem is not with the
site. The problem is with IE!

I asked for an address I can test.
You said you included it in your first message so I tried that.

Problem resolved.

At the time I downloaded & installed the latest Win 2000 Pro & IE 6 updates,
I had placed the site in my "restricted sites"

list, to stop their popups.

Removing the site from my "restricted sites" list solved the problem.

Frank:
I have reviewed this thread. I don't see your request for the real address.

You asked: "Is this a site I can visit?" on 8/18, at 621pm.
