IE 6 Repair tool won't work

When I try to use IE 6 sp1 repair tool I get "IE can't
repair. Errors: vs.3.0.8168.0 of file ATL.DLL exists but
vs. needs to be greater than 3.0.8449.0.
Can anyone tell me how I update the DLL and is it safe to
do that? I run Win98SE.

Henri,Thanks for your info. I went to the URL's you gave

me and I do not have the parasite described. The reason I
went to IE repair was because it was freezing on me and
giving me blue screens.So I figured I could try and repair
it. I have spybot and ZA pro so it's doubtful parasites
get thru. Any other suggestions?
