I am trying to run IE 6 on Win 98 SE, and I keep getting the smae eroors, even after reboots, reformats, and reinstalls.
When i try to go to the Windows Update page, it gives me a window that says it has encountered an error and must close, EVERY TIME! I can't go there to try to put on patches or anything, because it wont let me. After I close it, another window comes up about DDHelp, and how it had an illegal page fault in an unknown module. Has anyone else experience this problem? I can't seem to get it to go away, and I've tried everything.

Go directly the Windows Update site
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

Clear your cache. Delete all temporary internet files and cookies. Make
sure your system time and date is correct.

Alternative way to download Windows and other updates. Use Bigfix.
