IE 6 problem cookie problem?

A problem has just started occuring with a particular shopping website. I
called the Company but they said it is to do with my cookies and not their
website. I unable to rectify the problem by clearing the cookies and
deleting on/offline files and history. This has alway worked in the past
and now it does not. I have tried to do a "System Restore" but my system
will not allow me to restore any date and gives a msg "Restore Incomplete".

The site is www.next.co.uk. I use the search function (top middle of the
screen) and enter "144647", the search retrieves the item, I click the item
and a 2nd box appears, I select the size, then click "Add to bag" button,
(at that point the box should not disappear but it does now), then the "View
bag/checkout" (at the top right) should get updated with "1 items - £xx.xx".
It does not update the "View bag/checkout".

Please can you let me know what you think and what I could do to fix this.

Thanks for verifying this for me. I tried clicking the "0 items" after
adding an item but it did not load the item. Do you know what I should do?

Also can you please verify that "Automatically detect settings" should be
ticked under LAN Setting tab in Internet Option. I had a problem where
'Page could not be displayed' earlier today and my ISP advised that this
should be ticked. It does work now, but I wanted to verify with you that
this is correct.

That depends on your ISP.

With regards to your original problem, do logins work at other sites? Like
Google Accounts, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc?

Try setting the Cookie privacy in

Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Privacy (tab) > Settings (slider)

to the lowest point - Accept All Cookies and see whether that works.

Yes, thanks, I tried that but the same problem occurs.

What I noted is that if I dont use 'Search' but instead goto Home>Womens (at
top left)>Click one of the pictures>then select an item from there> it goes
straight into the Basket.
 
I tried again today, but this does not work for me. I contacted the company
and I guess it's a problem with my pc. Can you please advise further...?
