IE 6 Page Can Not Be Displayed

tim

I can't load any pages using IE6. I get the Page Can Not
Be Displayed message and there's a DNS error at the
bottom. Once in a while I get a blue screen with a page
fault that says something like PAGE_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or
BAD_POOL and I have to shut my computer down. I tried the
following: completely reformatted and reloaded windows (it
worked for a little while after than stopped), tried the
lspfix, scanned for viruses/spyware using Spybot, AdAware,
Norton Antivrus and found nothing. I have all the latest
Windows updates and virus definitions. Eventually my
Outlook Express stopped working as well, saying the
connection had been terminated upon startup. My
connection is just fine as both WSFTP and WinMX work.

I'm having a similar problem -- I get "Page Cannot Be
Displayed" & DNS error every time. I have not gotten the
blue screen Tim describes. The problem began on
Saturday. I downloaded most recent Microsoft updates and
Norton updates earlier last week (several days before the
problem started to occur...)

Anyone have any ideas?

I have similar problem and cannot access any of pages like:
v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com
www.symantec.com
www.pandasoftware.com

Things done so far without success. Is there any other fix that new XP
install?

Virus was found with Norton:

filename: C:\WINDOWS\system32\iexpIore.exe
result: This file is infected with W32.IRCBot

Now system clean according Norton Antivirus.

Ad-aware and register cleans done.
