IE 6 opening 100's of windows

ok so i'll be surfing the web, and all of a sudden, for
no reason that i know of, about 60 to 90 internet
explorer windows start opening. and the more you close
the more pop open. i dont know what the heck is going on.
its not a virus, or one that norton can find. maybe its a
new one, but it is freaking annoying. can anyone help

Try a popup stopper to begin with and see if that helps with the annoyance.

to learn more about how your javascript settings can allow this kind of
behavior. A pop-up stopper is your best bet to counter these attacks,
since IE doesn't have sufficient control. Or you can put problematic web
sites in the Restricted Zone.
 
but its not a certain page that i know of, its just
random sites as far as i can tell, like i'll be on
gamespot.com, or i'll be on yahoo.com and it'll happen,
there doesn't seem to be a pattern to it, so i dunno, but
yea i'll try getting a pop-up stopper thanks
 
It is also possible that you have spyware onboard that is doing this,
but usually they don't pop hundreds, only a few, extra pages. Might be
worthwhile to scan your system for the presence of spyware.
 
I use Primedius mainly for surfing anonymously, but it also has ad and
pop-up blocking. It blocks almost all pop-up and avertisement.
It is very good and I highly recommend it. You can download the free
trial version from their website - www.primedius.com.
