IE 6 newbie Question

IE 6 on Windows XP Pro

When I save a favorate the ICON of that site is there. Then after awhile it
changes back to the standard ICON.
I know how to save the favicon.ico now into a different directory and change
the properties. But my question is how do I get back the ICONS from the ones
that changed?

Any ideas or suggestions

Not all sites bother to create favicons. If they do, they usually, but not
always, save them in the root directory with the name favicon.ico. If you
notice that one of your favorites has a favicon, simply go to that directory
(such as http://online.tvguide.com/favicon.ico) and download it (it's easier
than searching through yout temporary internet files). Then, save it to
whatever folder you like to save your favicons in and go edit the favorites
properties for that page! (there is a button labeled Change Icon...) If you
have any problems, let me know.

Favicons are only temporary until cleared from your cache.

I did run into one small problem when I go to some sites
http://www.discovercard.com/favicon.ico I get a RED X icon. When I save the
favorate I get the real icon. any ideas?

On other sites I get the red x and I do a show file and it then displays.
