IE 6 locks up

I was on an aol site using my IE 6 and I went to a radio station. It asked
to download something so I could hear the station. I started to and the
computer locked up. Now when I try to get on IE it will show a blank white
screen with some of the background images showing and just sits there saying
loading images. But it never logs on. I have to control, alt, delete to get
the computer to respond. It takes about 5 minutes to get that to even
respond. What do I need to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. Bass

Get an IE window up and stop it dragging its heels as soon as you can (try
the Stop button on the toolbar).

Then go to Tools - Manage Add-ons...

Please list any names in the left-most column that you see. I'm guessing the
site installed something that may or may not have installed correctly, or
may be designed for AOL's browser only (do they still have their own
browser?). If we're lucky, we can disable it - we just need to try and
figure out if there is something of that nature in your list and which one
it might be. Don't try disabling anything yet - just list what names are
there for us.

It doesnt allow me to even see a full toolbar. It is all blank. It locks up
as soon as the screen comes up. Also thanks for your quick response.

Hmmm.... without wishing to insult your intelligence, is it possible that it
isn't locked up as such, but has gone to kiosk (full-screen) mode? If you
can already see the IE title bar, then ignore this bit. If not, try pressing
<F11> and see if the title bar suddenly appears.

If you still have no toolbars but can see the title bar, try selecting the
first three items on the View menu - the toolbars may have been hidden via a
registry change by the AOL site, if it was attempting to get the maximum
screen possible for the video playback.

Let us know if any of this is any help.
