Every time I start IE6 my home page (my.msn) will start to come up and then another browser will start up that starts out as "Double Click" and then it goes into another http site and then my original (my.msn) will be hijacked and roll over into another http site usuall starting out with http://81.9.3/html or another such site that is usually an ad for Marlboro Cigarettes, Viagra, Online Casino and then eventually continues to to go into pornographic material.

Does anyone know where to go to turn this off either in the registry, an INI file under windows, delete trusted certificates or anything else? What can I do to get rid of this, short of wiping my whole disk clean and starting over????? I have tried to browse the MSN Knowledge Base but I can't find anything even close to this.

HELP!!! HELP!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!

You obviously have a virus/spyware/adware infected system.
Start here:

I also have recently begun getting "redirected" to porn
sites when in IE6. Just recently started happening. It does
NOT happen when using Netscape Navigator. Spybot and Adware
have not been able to correct my problem! Let me know if
you find anything! Thanks.

I find WebRoot Spy Sweeper has stopped the home page
hijacking I was experiencing. First I got the free version
, but then bought a subscription. Works fine.

Win Patrol (Free Version) is also recommended, but the
constant barking can get annoying.

I had so much trouble trying to upgrade, and even remove
Norton System Works Professional 2000, that I decided to
try AVG 6.0 Anti-Virus (Free) and it immediately found a
few trojans, and cured one problem that was plaguing my
computer. So, I also recommend this product.

Good luck.
