At certain websites now, for instance with "blinkies" or animated graphics,
it takes forever to load them or just keeps having the window at the top
right corner moving but nothing changes on the site....I have DSL and usually
it is not this slow. I had Adaware but decided just now to try Microsofts new
Antispyware. Anyone help? Also........I can't even use with my Windows XP
their support option in my help/support panal? I downloaded XP Service Pack 2
and it use to let me contact support, but now I cant.

Hi Stacy :-)

Not sure if this is the problem, but, you might try the following and see if
it helps:

ZoneAlarm Pro can prevent animation from working. If you have it installed
open the programme, go to the Privacy Tab and click on the custom button and
be sure that the option to block animation is turned to OFF.

Other programs such as @Guard can disable animated .gifs, therefore, be sure
no programs are set to disable gifs..

also..

Why don't my animated gifs animate?

and.......

IE>Internet Options>Advanced tab>Multimedia section>"Play animations in web

pages">Apply>OK out.

Make sure your .gifs are associated to Internet Explorer. Click on a .gif in
windows explorer, IE should open to display it. :

Easy way (Doug Knox's script utility):
http://www.dougknox.com/utility/scripts_desc/fixpix.htm

or.....

Go to Start>Run and type in the wondow:
regsvr32.exe /i shdocvw.dll (all versions of IE) ... and then
regsvr32.exe /i shdoc401.dll (IE5 upwards)

If using WindowsME the command is:

regsvr32.exe /i thumbvw.dll

You should soon see a *succeeded* dialogue box after each command.
Click ok, and then reboot

If these steps do not resolve your problem, or you need help with the above,
please post back to this thread with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Thank You! I actually don't have ZoneAlarm Pro, etc...And my Multimedia boxes
are checked. For instance, when I go to online journals and I view them my IE
is just freezing and I have to close the window, specifically Xanga.Com.

Hi Stacy :-)

Try the following, see if they will help:

IE Freezes

Can't browse from sites:

This is possibly being caused by third party programs-
malware/parasites.

From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced> uncheck "Enable third
party browser extensions." That should allow IE to work. IF it does, then
your system is likely infected and you need to clean your system. Follow the
instructions at the links below, and
you should re-enable browser extensions after the cleanup.
