Explorer caused an invalid page fault in Module Kernel32.dll.

When I try to load IE 6 on a Windows 98 system I started getting this error
yesterday. I tried help article 187965 but it doesn't work. Anyone know
what I need to do to correct this?????????????????

Do I need to update to the SP1 version or what????????????????

Just as a general rule-of-thumb, I _always_ install the service packs and
updates to my system and browser software ASAP.

Hi,
There are *many* possibilities. Work through these.

Another program is interfering with IE- possibly an adware, spyware,
parasite program.
See:
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
You should run CWShredder, Ad-aware and Spybot. Also note the security tips
on that page.

More security tips at http://www.aumha.org/a/parasite.htm

Or...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, security,
anti-virus, etc. Also... notorious for causing problems- Gator, Kazaa and
some others. You may have to reinstall, or not reinstall, a program.

There are other possibilities for KERNEL32 errors, including corrupted or
outdated video drivers
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#kernel32
Start at Control Panel> Display> Settings> Advanced for information on your
video adapter/driver including (possibly) a link to the manufacturer's
website.
